Holiday Park

Holiday Park is an amusement park in Haßloch, Germany, owned and operated by Plopsa. It is one of Germany's most popular theme parks (receiving about 660,000 visitors per year) and is part park and part woodland.
Der Holiday Park ist ein Freizeitpark in Haßloch im südlichen Rheinland-Pfalz. Er wurde im Jahre 1971 eröffnet und gehört seit November 2010 zum belgischen Freizeitpark-Betreiber Plopsa.
Im Park wurde der erste Freifallturm („Free Fall Tower“) und der erste Rapid River Ride („Donnerfluss“) Deutschlands errichtet. Bekannteste Attraktion des Parks dürfte seit 2001, vor allem durch das überregionale Medien-Echo, die Achterbahn „Expedition GeForce“ sein.
Mit dem Verkauf des Freizeitparks an die belgische Unternehmensgruppe Studio 100 wurde der Holiday Park zu einem Themenpark mit einzelnen, zusammenhängenden Themengebieten umgestaltet. Unter dem Titel „Majaland“ entstand so bis zum Sommer 2012 auf dem Platz des ursprünglichen Ein- und Ausgangs ein neuer Parkbereich mit elf Attraktionen. Im Zuge dessen wurde ein neuer Ein- und Ausgangsbereich auf dem früheren Platz des „Tanzenden Pavillons“ und des „Ballon Race“ erbaut. Zum Jahr 2016 wurde die Sanierung des Parkplatzes abgeschlossen.
Das ursprüngliche Parkmaskottchen war der Papagei Holly. Durch den Kauf des Holiday Parks von Studio 100 wurden die Maskottchen Biene Maja, Wickie, Heidi, Mia und Tabaluga, sowie deren Freunde eingeführt.
Holiday Park est un parc d'attractions qui se situe près de Haßloch, dans le land de Rhénanie-Palatinat en Allemagne. Il est très connu des passionnés de sensations fortes depuis 2001, année d'ouverture de son attraction phare : Expedition GeForce. Avant son rachat par Studio 100 en 2010, le parc avait pour mascotte un perroquet vert nommé Holly. Depuis ses mascottes sont Vic le Viking, la dragon Tabaluga et Maya l'abeille. En 2006, le parc a accueilli 1,1 million de visiteurs.
